I have been attempting to use the v1.12.1 website package. It looks really nice but I can not seem to get the Login to work to allow people to login and to access things like the Admin Panel. Everything else seems to be working fine such as the Realm Status, News, Files, etc..

Can anyone give some suggestions on why the login might not work? What happens is at the login page when you enter a correct ID and Password it just reloads to the login page again. If you put incorrect information it gives you an error. So it seems to be recognizing the information entered but not actually completing the login.

** Correction: I've fixed the problem and just had to read the config.php better. For others having this problem you may need to set the $site_cookie['cookie_domain'] to your external IP if you are behind a router/firewall.

I can't get it to work Sad

Error: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'xsix.is-a-geek.com' (4).

I'm using a PHP server from my own computer and DynDNS, I did all as you said in the guide, (not sure if I got the $database_encoding right tho, i got '65001').
Also not 100% that the SQL things got correct added, but I did add them all 2 times now.

Tell me anything you need to know, or want me to post (screenshots etc.), I really want it to work!
Hope you can help Smile

Kindly Regards
XsiX

(BTW. Great work!)

I hope the OP come around here once in a while still..

You said to add my database info into the last field of the bottom of my realomlist table (or something like that..) could you post a screensap so I could see where to put that exactly? The instruction is pretty vague to me.

EDIT: Nevermind. *facepalm* all I had to do was scroll up.

Okay, this time I actually have a problem that scrolling up will not fix.

When I try to make an account, I get the error:
Code:
Unknown column 'password' in 'field list'
This is what I've come up with: The account creation is trying to insert a user name and password into the database, and it looking for the column "password," however I found that passwords are stored in hash form in the "I" column. How do I get the web pack to hash the passwords so they can be put into the "I" column and recognized by the WoW client?

Can I cut into a php file somewhere to get the coding information, and then paste that into the Web Pack php file, or is the hashing done within the mySQL service, and in that case, how do I get the service to hash the passwords?

Okay, I got account signup to work by replacing in inc/account.create.php:
Code:
if($realm_db->query("INSERT INTO `account` (`username`,`password`,`email`,`last_ip`,`banned`,`locked`) VALUES ('$r_login','$r_pass','$r_email','$_SERVER[REMOTE_ADDR]','1','1')"))
with
Code:
if($realm_db->query("INSERT INTO `account` (`username`,`I`,`email`,`last_ip`,`banned`,`locked`) VALUES ('$r_login', SHA1(CONCAT(UPPER('$r_login'),':',UPPER('$r_pass'))),'$r_email','$_SERVER[REMOTE_ADDR]','1','1')"))
with the key part being command to hash: ( SHA1(CONCAT(UPPER('$r_login'),':',UPPER('$r_pass'))) )

However, reversing the process is more problematic to enable the login, just because of the logistics involved:

if A == A, and B+A == B+A, then login. :[

Anyway, how do I incorporate
Code:
SHA1(CONCAT(UPPER('$r_login'),':',UPPER('$r_pass')))
into
Code:
if(strlen($l_userstat['username'])>1 && $l_userstat['password']==$l_n_pass && strlen($l_n_pass)>1 && $l_userstat['banned']==0)

A bone. Throw one to me.

hey mate...

ok.. here's your first problem..
if you are trying to decrypt the MD5 encryption...
u will always be flawed..
as this is one way encryption..
it was designed that way..

so if you ever want to compare passwords..
u have to regen the user's input and compare it to the db's password hash...

so i would be tempted to...

Code:
[COLOR=YellowGreen] $passDB = get hash password from database - 'I' field or w/e...
$passTmp = SHA1(CONCAT(UPPER('$l_userstat['username']'),':',UPPER('$l_userstat['password']')))
[/COLOR]
then...

if([color=MediumTurquoise]strlen($l_userstat['username'])>1[/color] && [color=Olive]strlen($l_userstat['password'])>1[/color] && [b][color=DarkOrange]strcmp($passDB, $passTmp)=0[/color][/b] && [color=Pink]$l_userstat['banned']==0[/color])
now to explain...
  1. get/calculate all the needed vars for processing...
  2. check the user inputed username legnth..
  3. check the user inputed password legnth..
  4. compare the hashed password with the db's stored hashed password...
  5. check if the users is banned...
  6. then continue the code...

ok.. see how it saying...

Error Code: 1060 - Duplicate column name 'dbinfo'
Error Code: 1050 - Table 'zone_coordinates' already exists

that means the table structure is already there...
[have u installed it previously..? or used one of my repacks..?]
login to sqlyog and browse to those tables..
if there is data there.. you should be fine...
and im pretty sure the update.sql was only for older version of the repack...

I get this at the bottem when I load my page.

Error: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Unknown MySQL server host
'HOSTNAME' (11001).

and this if I try to make an account

Unknown MySQL server host 'HOSTNAME' (11001)

any Ideas? I pretty sure I followed the pics and step I'm using Xampp v. 1.6.8

Edit:
I fix my issue I'll be more then helpfull to anyone else needing help with this on..

also the zone_coordinates.sql is not needed since the install.sql contains all the info
from the zone_coordinates.sql also, so installing them both wil get you errors

Edit: now a new problem, my realm shows online but nobody shows to be on the server
at all.

i have my realmstatus.php set like this
while($result = $realm_db->fetch_assoc($query))
{
$server_num++;
$mangosd_database = parse_worlddb_info($result['dbinfo']);
$mangos_db = new DBLayer($mangosd_database['host'], $mangosd_database['user'], $mangosd_database['password'], $mangosd_database['db']);
$mangos_db->query("SET NAMES $database_encoding");

$population=0;
if($res_color==1)$res_color=2;else$res_color=1;
$realm_type = $realm_type_def[$result['icon']];

$server_params = parse_worldserv_addr($result['address']);
if(!$server_params['port'])$server_params['port'] = 8085;
if($server_num == 1)$server_params['port'] = 8086;
if(check_port_status("$server_params[ip]", $server_params['port'])===true)
{

what conf file should the port seting match the mangod.conf or realm.conf?
also my db are named MaNGOS_6255 and Realm instead or mangosd and realmd if that makes a differance.

now I have players reporting the registration isnt working either

Is there a possiblity that you can add a function to tell users what the servers CPU and usage, used ram / total ram, used hdd space / total hdd space.? I have been looking for a detailed server status page and have yet to find one. Im not sure if im the only one but i would like to see that.
