[Question's]Remote Server
How would i go about playing with server fiels ect... if i made a server and ran it at my cuz's house down the road would I be able to some how deal with server stuff (acaul files) fro mmy house/pc?

Also my internet on speak easy speed test (Advanced DSL) is 1500/350 (about that), my cuz's (Cable) is 4166/437.

Now what rate does the server / client part use? The first rate or second?

(Also on a smaller note is it noraml for my cuz's rates to be that differnt i neach other he has cable)

TY

You can set up an ultraVNC server on your cousin's computer, which would allow you to control his computer from your house.

Kool, but no that's nmot waht i mean Tongue

Here are my internet resualts from a speak easy speed test

Last Result:
Download Speed: 1548 kbps (193.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

[Question's]Remote Server
i have ADSL2+ and CABLE... about to get DSL Direct...

ADSL2+ = 24mbs down / 1-2mbs up...
CABLE = 25mbs down / 2-3mbs up...
DSL Direct = 25mbs down / 3-4mbs up...

these are vague averages.. as each area differs..
and alot depends on your distance from the exchange..
im lucky im rather close.. and i get higher than expected speeds...
and with cable.. its more like a large LAN setup..
so the more ppl on the LAN for cable internet..
the more the connection is shared.. therefore lower speeds...

[Question's]Remote Server
If you live in the United States (which I know some people do) I would recommend if you want a fast connection Optimum Online. It is Cable yes. But it gives you 18 MB Download if you get the SuperFast Option. And 4-6 Upload I think or its higher.

[Question's]Remote Server
When it comes to servers, your connection is only as good as your lowest quoted speed. I pay 120 (incl tax) for expanded cable, digital telephone, and internet.

I live in an area that if you travel 100 miles you could have passed through 5 major cities. I think I pay a fairly good price for it, but the sad thing is I don't have a much higher bandwidth option. AND it's illegal for me to host a server on my connection, of course I do anyway.
